So this week we checked every one against its marketplace listing, from price and rating to the last update and WordPress support. Five themes were gone, and 15 were general business themes with no real photography focus. Another 14 had low ratings, old updates or no recent proof. That left 20 themes, and we added two new reviews plus two proven photo themes we had already reviewed. The result is 24 themes built for photographers or with dedicated photo demos.

How to choose the best WordPress photography theme

Start with how you earn money from your photos. A wedding or portrait studio needs client proofing and booking, while a fine art photographer needs a shop. A pure portfolio can skip both and focus on galleries.

Then check three facts on each item page: the last update, the Software Version field and the rating against the number of sales. A 4.00 from three buyers says less than a 4.78 from 210. Finally, confirm the page builder, because Elementor and WPBakery themes edit very differently.

New photography picks for 2026

Photogam from kwst ships matching dark and light versions, and each one imports in one click. Its homepages use sliders, carousels, a fullscreen image or video, while portfolios scroll horizontally or vertically. In addition, it runs on Elementor with custom widgets and costs $49. Still, it has 54 sales, a 4.00 rating from three reviews, and the listing stops at WordPress 6.8.

Sable from Wolf-Themes builds a dark, cinematic portfolio and drives its motion with GSAP. It ships grid, masonry, vertical and fullscreen layouts, with a separate demo concept for photographers. Also, Slider Revolution and WooCommerce come included, so prints can sell from the same site. It costs $89, the highest price here, and was updated on 8 September 2026. It has 28 sales and no rating yet.

Bestsellers built for photographers

Photography from ThemeGoods is the best-selling dedicated photo theme on this page, with 17,632 sales at a 4.58 rating. Its standout feature is a buy link on each image, so a visitor can order a print straight from the gallery. The theme also supports Elementor and WooCommerce. ThemeGoods updated it on 17 June 2026, and it costs $69.

Novo from ypromo pairs a 4.78 rating from 210 reviews with a July 2026 update and 9,344 sales. It offers grid, masonry, horizontal and video galleries, protected portfolios and a WooCommerce store. In addition, it supports Elementor and WPBakery and lists WordPress 7.0. At $79, it sits near the top of our price range.

Reflector from fox-themes turns a portfolio into a studio business site. It bundles appointment booking, three kinds of client proofing gallery, a WooCommerce print shop and 25 homepage layouts. Its record stands at 1,914 sales and a 4.61 rating, and fox-themes updated it on 1 September 2026. It costs $49. On the other hand, page building runs on WPBakery.

Whizz from fox-themes costs $29 and bundles Whizzy, a client gallery and proofing plugin. In addition, it ships 45+ demos, 24 gallery styles and 23 dark layouts. It rates 4.57 across 2,398 sales, and fox-themes updated it on 1 September 2026. That makes it the cheapest proofing option in this list.

Wedding, event and studio photography

Solene from Elated-Themes is the best-selling wedding-only theme here, with 4,351 sales at a 4.36 rating. The theme ships 12 homepages, masonry, exhibition and horizontal portfolio layouts, and WooCommerce product elements. It works with Elementor, and WPBakery comes included. Its price is $79. Still, no update has shipped since 25 March 2025.

Kinetika from iMaginem costs $59 and has 5,343 sales at a 4.57 rating. It pairs fullscreen slideshows and video backgrounds with built-in proofing galleries, where clients select their shots on your site. As a result, it suits wedding and event work. However, the last update came on 21 August 2024, and the listing stops at WordPress 6.6.

Snapster from fox-themes adds booking, proofing and a shop to a photography portfolio. It ships 18 homepage demos, 12 gallery styles and password-protected client galleries, plus a bundled booking plugin. Besides, it works with Elementor and Gutenberg. The theme rates 4.25 across 1,377 sales, was updated on 1 September 2026 and costs $49.

Snapture from themexriver launched in June 2026 with six homepages for studios, freelancers, weddings, fashion and model work. It also adds 50+ inner pages, 25+ custom Elementor widgets and a WooCommerce shop for prints and presets. The $32 price appears to be introductory, since the item description names $49 as the regular price. Still, 14 sales and no public rating mean it is barely proven.

Fullscreen and dark photo portfolios

Blacksilver from iMaginem is built for photographers, with proofing, galleries and events in one theme. It holds 4,813 sales at a 4.37 rating and works with Elementor. The listing names WordPress 7.0, though no update has shipped since 19 July 2025. Therefore, check the changelog before you buy. It costs $59.

SOHO from GT3themes presents photography and video in fullscreen portfolios. It has 3,711 sales at a 4.45 rating, and it launched twelve years ago. GT3themes still updated it on 25 May 2026, and the listing covers WordPress 7.0. As a result, it is one of the oldest themes here that still gets updates. It costs $59.

JohnBlack is a fullscreen photography theme with a 4.84 rating across 861 sales, the highest score in this group. It received an update on 29 January 2026, and the listing covers WordPress up to 6.9. The price is $59. Even so, the rating rests on only 44 reviews.

Trigger from ArtemSemkin opens on a dark photographer homepage and moves between projects without a reload. Self-hosted videos play inline, and a fullscreen slider shows single images at full size. It costs $69 and lists WordPress 6.9 and 7.0.

Proven classics with long records

Oyster from GT3themes is a long-running photo theme with 3,974 sales at a 4.60 rating. It offers custom photography templates and a one-click demo content import. GT3themes also updated it on 16 February 2026, twelve years after launch. On the other hand, the listing stops at WordPress 6.9. It costs $59.

Photographer from pixelwars is designed for creative photographers and has 3,379 sales at a 4.47 rating. The author updated it on 20 November 2025, and the listing covers WordPress up to 6.9. At $75, it is one of the higher prices here. Still, twelve years on ThemeForest show a long support record.

Scroller from Dannci is a one page or multi-page photography theme built around scrolling sections. It supports Elementor and WooCommerce and holds 4,209 sales at a 4.36 rating. Thirteen years after launch, Dannci still updated it on 20 May 2026, and the listing covers WordPress 7.0. It costs $59.

Elementor portfolios for photographers

Missio from shtheme is an Elementor photography theme with 40+ homepage variations and unlimited colour options. The author updated it on 20 June 2026, and the listing covers WordPress 7.0. It costs $59. However, 205 sales and a 4.22 rating from nine reviews make it one of the less proven picks.

Odry from GT3themes is a photography portfolio theme on Elementor that bundles the GT3 Photo and Video Gallery plugin. For example, it offers justified, masonry, packery, ribbon and fullscreen slider galleries, plus WooCommerce and WPML support. GT3themes updated it on 2 February 2026, and it costs $59. Even so, 322 sales and a 4.20 rating from five reviews are a small record.

Kotlis is a photography portfolio theme that rates 4.70 across 661 sales. It was updated on 21 June 2026, and the listing covers WordPress 7.0. At $69, it sits above most portfolio themes here. Still, the rating rests on 30 reviews rather than hundreds.

Bifrost from neuronthemes is a simple Elementor theme with 45+ homepages, a header builder and WooCommerce support. It holds 4,254 sales at a 4.55 rating. Its plain layouts also keep photos at the centre of the page. neuronthemes updated it on 5 January 2026, and it costs $59.

Creative portfolio themes with photo demos

Rouben from premitheme is a creative portfolio and photography theme ready for Elementor, Gutenberg and WooCommerce. It holds a 4.91 rating, a score shared only with Rhye, but from 353 sales. The price is $44. However, the last update came on 23 June 2025, and the listing stops at WordPress 6.8.

Rhye from ArtemSemkin rates 4.91 across 2,093 sales and targets designers, photographers and production studios. Its AJAX transitions move between projects without a reload, driven by WebGL and GSAP. ArtemSemkin also updated it on 17 July 2026, with WordPress 7.0 in the listing. It costs $69.

Clivo from ypromo has a 5.00 rating from 13 reviews and ships 34 homepage variants with grid and masonry photo galleries. In addition, it supports Elementor and WPBakery side by side. ypromo updated it on 2 July 2026 with WordPress 7.0 support. It costs $59, although 372 sales is a small sample.

Oshine from brandexponents ships 62 demos, including photography and portfolio concepts, on its own visual page builder. It holds 38,201 sales at a 4.80 rating, the largest record on this page. On the downside, layouts built with that builder do not move easily to another theme. It costs $69.
