24 Best WordPress Political Themes 2026

By Updated: 0

What is the best WordPress political theme in 2026?

Progress from ThemeREX is the best all-round campaign theme: $69 for six demos covering party, candidate, donation, blog, city government and fundraising, with donation goal tracking, an Events Calendar and WooCommerce built in, updated 6 June 2026. Jack Well from AncoraThemes holds the highest rating on the page at 4.83 and routes donations through GiveWP.

Best for: candidates, political parties, campaign groups and activist organisations building a WordPress site in 2026

Looking for WordPress political themes that are still maintained in 2026? We rebuilt this page from scratch in September 2026 and checked every candidate directly on ThemeForest that week. Consequently we kept only themes that still sell and shipped an update in 2025 or 2026. Five well-known names failed that test and are not listed: Politist has left the marketplace, Diplomat has had no release since 2022, and Rajneti, Democracy Political and Baklon each fell short on maintenance or verification. What remains is 24 themes for candidates, parties and campaign groups, each with a full review, a working demo and the current price and rating. Running a council or municipality instead? Our government and municipality themes collection covers that side separately.

How to choose a WordPress political theme

Start with the calendar, not the design. A campaign site has a deadline that does not move. Therefore the real question is how much of the finished site arrives with the demo import. Progress, Jack Well and inForward all ship donation pages, an events calendar and volunteer forms, which saves the week you would otherwise spend wiring plugins together.

Next, decide who the site is about. A single candidate needs biography, issues and a donate button. A party needs branches, membership and local groups. Those are different structures, and picking the wrong one costs more than picking the wrong colour scheme. In addition, check how the theme handles donations. A theme-native form launches faster, while a maintained plugin such as GiveWP keeps working long after the theme stops getting updates – Jack Well and Veto both take that route. Finally, read the last update date. Political themes sell in bursts around election years, and several in this niche pair impressive sales figures with no release since 2022.

New political WordPress themes for 2026

Progress from ThemeREX is the most complete campaign theme released this year. Moreover, it ships six separate demos: political party, campaign donation, city government, political blog, candidate landing and fundraising. Therefore you import a shape rather than build one. In addition, the theme wires in donation goal tracking, an Events Calendar for rallies and WooCommerce for merchandise. However, 134 sales means a short record.

Campaigner from cmsmasters handles policy better than anything else here. Moreover, its Issues section is a real content type. Therefore healthcare or housing each get a linkable page rather than a blog post lost in a category. In addition, three candidate home layouts, Events Calendar Pro and WPML cover the rest of a campaign site. However, it has 81 sales and no ratings yet.

3. Veto

Veto from axiomthemes carries the most current design in this collection. Moreover, it routes donations through the Give plugin rather than a theme-native form. Consequently receipts, recurring gifts and donor records survive a theme change. In addition, six demos cover party, candidate, blog, city government and fundraising layouts. However, 76 sales and three ratings mean the score carries almost no weight yet.

4. Verdox

Verdox from WebGeniusLab published this year and shipped an update in June 2026. Moreover, its hero surfaces campaign values as seven discrete tags – integrity, growth, security, opportunity – which communicates a platform faster than a paragraph. In addition, WebGeniusLab also maintains TheGov, a 1,300-sale government theme. However, 23 sales and no ratings mean you buy on the author rather than the theme.

The best-selling political WordPress themes

Candidate from Monkeysan is the best-selling political theme on ThemeForest, with 2,655 sales and 105 ratings behind a 4.48 average. Moreover, it covers political, nonprofit and church use cases from one install, which suits campaign groups that are also registered charities. In addition, Monkeysan shipped an update on 21 May 2026, twelve years after launch. Therefore it is the safest choice here on track record alone.

6. Nominee

Nominee from TrendyTheme offers eleven demos, more than any rival: candidate, city mayor, campaign, leader, party, city government, separate male and female candidate variants, a one-page layout and two landing pages. Moreover, 2,468 sales and a 4.55 rating from 44 ratings make it one of the two biggest sellers here. However, the last update landed in October 2024, and it runs on WPBakery.

Right Way from ThemeREX holds the strongest rating among the established themes here: 4.75 across 53 ratings and 1,404 sales. Moreover, the scrolling homepage moves through platform, biography, events and donations in a single pass. That is exactly the order a first-time visitor needs. In addition, an update landed on 17 June 2026. Therefore a campaign site can go live quickly, which is usually the real constraint.

Vox Populi from BoldThemes is the party theme in this collection rather than a candidate theme. Moreover, it targets grassroots initiatives and membership organisations. Therefore branches, member sign-up and local groups all have somewhere to live. In addition, 1,384 sales and a 4.75 rating from 16 ratings back it up. Furthermore, BoldThemes updated it on 30 June 2026, keeping the code current.

Election campaign and candidate themes

Jack Well from AncoraThemes holds the highest rating in this collection at 4.83. Moreover, it hands donations to GiveWP and events to the Events Calendar rather than reinventing both in theme code. In addition, the navy and gold palette reads as a serious civil-servant campaign rather than a national spectacle. Therefore it suits a mayoral or council race particularly well.

10. Politic

Politic from HasTech shipped an update on 19 August 2026, among the most recent here, and runs on Elementor rather than the WPBakery generation. Moreover, it treats campaigns as their own content type, so individual initiatives get real pages. In addition, four home layouts include a one-page version. However, its 4.00 rating from 20 ratings is the weakest of the established themes.

11. Politicia

Politicia from designervily covers politicians and professional speakers from one theme, which nobody else here attempts. Moreover, six demos at $59 undercut the $69 that most 2026 releases charge. In addition, designervily updated it on 4 August 2026. However, its perfect rating rests on only nine ratings, so judge it on the demo rather than the score.

12. inForward

inForward from Monkeysan ships two candidate demos and two party demos, so a personal campaign and an organisation each get a fitting structure. Moreover, its 4.70 rating from 20 ratings is among the most convincing here. In addition, Gravity Forms support handles volunteer sign-ups that ask real questions. Furthermore, Monkeysan also makes Candidate and updated both in May 2026.

Party, movement and multipurpose political themes

13. Partiso

Partiso from axiomthemes opens by asking visitors to join rather than to admire: “Principled. Proven. Progressive. Stand with Us!” over a campaign sign-up. Moreover, that is the right order for a movement site. In addition, serif typography gives it an established rather than insurgent feel. However, sister theme Veto arrived two months later with six demos at the same price.

PoliticalWP from ThemeSLR costs $37, roughly half what the 2026 releases charge, and still ships seven home layouts including two video-led designs and a local government variant. Moreover, 1,027 sales and a 4.35 rating show the discount does not signal a weak product. However, it runs on WPBakery and last shipped in March 2025.

MCKinney’s Politics from ThemeREX covers elections and social activism together, which suits groups that campaign as well as contest seats. Moreover, the full-screen Capitol hero and vertical navigation rail give it the most cinematic design here. In addition, Events Calendar handles meetings and marches. However, ThemeREX shipped Progress a year later with six demos at the same price.

Politpress from mwtemplates stretches further than anything else here: six demos spanning a political party, a youth movement, a charity, a church and a senior care organisation. Moreover, political organisations are rarely only political, so that breadth earns its place. In addition, it costs $49. However, 265 sales have produced no public ratings at all.

Budget picks and long-running favourites

17. Politica

Politica from ThemeSLR costs $29, the cheapest theme in this collection, and it is not a token listing: 369 sales, a 4.47 rating from 15 ratings and WPML translation built in. Moreover, events, gallery, shop and donation sections all ship with it. Therefore a first-time council candidate gets a credible site for less than thirty dollars.

18. Elvotics

Elvotics from Softwebmedia is the budget entry at $39, and it holds a 4.75 rating across its four ratings. Moreover, it bundles a cause and events manager, so campaign issues and rally dates are theme features rather than plugin work. In addition, a live customiser handles the styling. Furthermore, an update landed on 22 February 2026, which keeps a nine-year-old theme inside our maintenance window.

19. Astute

Astute from WEBITRANGPUR works as both a one-page and a multi-page political theme, which is rare in this niche. Moreover, that flexibility suits a campaign that starts as a single landing page and grows into a full site. In addition, Elementor handles the layouts, so volunteers can edit them. Furthermore, 589 sales, a 4.58 rating and a 20 June 2026 update make it a reasonable mid-price pick at $41.

20. VoteStart

VoteStart from Mikado-Themes is the design-led option among the older themes. Moreover, it targets political and city government sites from the same install, with layouts that lean on large typography and full-width imagery. In addition, 573 sales and a February 2026 update keep it current. However, at $79 it is the most expensive theme on this page, and it carries no public rating yet.

Activism, fundraising and specialist themes

21. Activism

Activism from rayoflightt is the only full site editing theme in this collection, which makes it the one option that runs on WordPress blocks rather than a page builder. Moreover, that means no builder lock-in: the layouts stay editable if you change themes. In addition, it suits campaign groups and non-profits as readily as candidates. Furthermore, 722 sales and an 8 May 2026 update back a twelve-year-old theme.

22. Denorious

Denorious from Fluent-Themes sits on the fundraising side of politics, covering non-profit and campaign donation drives from one install. Moreover, the demos put donation goals and cause pages ahead of candidate biographies. In addition, 458 sales and a 4.50 rating from eight ratings give it a modest but clean record. However, the last update was 22 June 2025, so check plugin compatibility before buying.

23. Politono

Politono from XpeedStudio centres on election campaigns and party sites, and 953 buyers have used it for exactly that. Moreover, the demos cover candidate profiles, campaign events and donation pages without extra plugins. In addition, a 4.33 rating across 15 ratings is respectable for the niche. However, the last update landed on 30 April 2025, which makes it the oldest release we kept.

Candidates from rayoflightt costs $179, two and a half times the norm here, and the feature list does not explain the gap. Moreover, its campaign cities section is a genuinely good idea: it organises activity geographically so supporters see what is happening near them. Therefore treat the price as buying support rather than a bigger theme.

Which WordPress political theme should you pick?

Running a candidate campaign with a deadline? Progress arrives with donations, events and merchandise already wired together. Want the best rating on this page? Jack Well holds 4.83 and routes donations through GiveWP. Need the widest choice of layouts? Nominee ships eleven demos. If track record matters most, Candidate has 2,655 sales behind it. WordPress political themes: frequently asked questions

What is the best WordPress political theme in 2026?

Progress from ThemeREX is the best all-round pick: $69 for six demos, donation pages with goal tracking, an Events Calendar and WooCommerce, updated 6 June 2026. Jack Well holds the highest rating here at 4.83, and Candidate has the longest record with 2,655 sales.

Which political theme is cheapest?

Politica at $29, followed by PoliticalWP at $37 and Elvotics at $39. All three are established themes rather than budget listings – Politica has 369 sales and PoliticalWP 1,027. The 2026 releases mostly sit at $69.

Can a WordPress theme handle campaign donations?

In two ways. Progress, Elvotics and PoliticalWP build donation pages into the theme, which launches faster. Jack Well and Veto instead use GiveWP, which keeps receipts, recurring gifts and donor records working after the theme stops getting updates.

What is the difference between a candidate theme and a party theme?

A candidate theme centres on one person: biography, issues, donate and volunteer. A party theme needs branches, membership and local groups. Campaigner, Politicia and Astute suit one candidate; Vox Populi, Partiso and inForward handle party structures properly.

Which themes were left out and why?

Politist has been removed from ThemeForest entirely. Diplomat has had no release since November 2022 and Rajneti none since 2020. Democracy Political pairs a 2024 update with a 3.70 rating. Baklon is alive but its demo server blocks automated access, so we could not verify it.

Do any of these themes avoid page builder lock-in?

Activism is the only full site editing theme here, so its layouts are WordPress blocks and stay editable if you switch themes. Politic, Politicia, Jack Well, Progress and Veto use Elementor; Nominee, Candidate, inForward and PoliticalWP use WPBakery.

Are there WordPress themes for city government rather than campaigns?

Yes, and they now live on a separate page. Our government and municipality collection covers TownPress, CityGov, EGovt, Town Hall, Administration and Civica, which are built for departments, services and public notices rather than elections.
