Best for: course creators, online academies, coaches and training teams that sell courses on WordPress

Looking for a WordPress e-learning theme that still gets updates in 2026? We checked the price, rating, sales, last update and Software Version field of every theme on this page. The list now has 20 themes: three new reviews, one LMS leader we had already reviewed, and 16 themes from the previous list. We removed eleven themes. Most of them were kindergarten, school, university or business themes without real course features. The rest were outdated, could not be verified, or had no review on our site.

How to choose a WordPress e-learning theme

Start with the LMS plugin, because it runs your courses, quizzes and payments. LearnPress is free and powers Eduma, Eikra and MaxCoach. Tutor LMS powers EduMall and Omexo, while MasterStudy ships its own Pro LMS. So pick a theme that supports the plugin you want to keep.

Next, read three facts on the item page: the last update, the Software Version field and the rating against the number of reviews. Several themes here still sell well, although their listing stops at WordPress 6.9. Finally, decide whether you run one academy or a marketplace with many instructors, because only some themes handle commissions and payouts.
