We rechecked 21 Drupal blog and magazine themes directly on ThemeForest in September 2026. Nine had vanished from the marketplace, and of the twelve still on sale only four had shipped an update in 2025 or 2026. We then sorted the entire Drupal category by release date: among the thirty newest themes, exactly one is a blog theme. What follows is 7 themes – every Drupal option a writer can still buy with confidence, plus two multipurpose themes worth a look. How to choose a Drupal writer theme

Check the Drupal core version first, because it decides everything else. A theme built for Drupal 7 is a dead end: core reached end of life in January 2025 and the themes that stopped there will not upgrade. Look for Drupal 10 at minimum, and prefer Drupal 11.

Next, read the last update date rather than the sales count. Several themes on ThemeForest still show four-figure sales and a 2019 release, and those numbers came from an era that ended. In addition, decide whether you need a magazine or a writer site. A magazine theme organises many authors into categories and front-page blocks. A writer needs the opposite – one voice, long articles, a readable measure and somewhere to list published work. Batiz and Xpovio lean that way, while Quatro and Remito are category-driven. Finally, be realistic about the platform. Drupal remains excellent for structured content, but the theme market around it is now very small, and the WordPress blog collections linked below offer far more choice for the same job.

Drupal blog themes still updated in 2026

Quatro from SymphonyThemes is the most-bought Drupal blog theme still under maintenance, with 377 sales and a 4.26 rating from 23 ratings. Moreover, it now targets Drupal 11 and 10 rather than the Drupal 7 build it launched with twelve years ago. In addition, SymphonyThemes shipped a release on 29 August 2026. Therefore it is the safest starting point for a writer on Drupal.

Zaira is the only Drupal blog theme published in the last two years, which tells you most of what you need to know about this market. Moreover, SymphonyThemes built it for Drupal 11 and 10 on Bootstrap 5 rather than porting an older design. In addition, an update landed on 28 August 2026. However, 26 sales means you are buying on the demo rather than on a record.

Batiz from Gavias holds a perfect 5.00 rating across 14 ratings and 311 sales, and it now runs on Drupal 11.3. Moreover, Gavias updated it on 5 April 2026, which puts it among the four maintained blog themes left on this platform. In addition, its layouts suit a long-form writer better than a news portal. Therefore it competes directly with Quatro at the same $48.

Maintained magazine themes with a caveat

Remito from Gavias carries the best rating on this page that rests on a real sample: 4.95 from 20 ratings across 233 sales. Moreover, it targets Drupal 11 and shipped its last release on 15 March 2025. In addition, the magazine layouts handle category-heavy sites well. However, that 2025 update makes it the least recently maintained theme we kept without a caveat.

Vinor comes with a caveat we want to state plainly: Gavias last updated it on 23 April 2024. Moreover, it targets Drupal 10, which still receives security support, so it is usable rather than abandoned. In addition, 188 sales and a 5.00 rating from nine ratings speak well of it. Therefore we kept it, but check the Drupal 11 upgrade path before you commit.

Multipurpose Drupal themes that work for a writer

Jano is a multipurpose theme rather than a blog theme, and we list it because a working writer usually needs a portfolio alongside the articles. Moreover, SymphonyThemes ships 13 home layouts and more than 50 pages on Drupal 11 and 10, several of them article-led. In addition, an update landed on 28 August 2026. However, its 3.67 rating from three ratings is the weakest here.

Xpovio from 4coding is the cheapest current option at $33, and the only theme here written for Drupal 11 from the ground up rather than ported to it. Moreover, its paragraph builder makes assembling an article or a work sample straightforward. In addition, 4coding updated it on 1 December 2025. However, four sales means there is no track record at all.
